Low Hill is the alter ego of Laurens Vanhulle, a Belgian self-taught producer, vocalist, and songwriter known for a unique blend of ambient electronica and neo-soul. From their attic studio in Brussels, Low Hill crafts a cinematic and melancholic universe, seamlessly combining classic songwriting with a modern, layered sound. Low Hill’s music has received praise from outlets such as StuBru, Radio Eén, Willy, and Focus Knack. Additional recognition followed when the single "Heal" was selected as part of the soundtrack for the popular series Knokke Off on Netflix and VRT, solidifying Low Hill’s status as an emerging talent in the Belgian music scene.
After living in Antwerp for fifteen years, Laurens moved to Brussels, where they refined their live performance as an artist-in-residence at music center Volta. Recently, Benjamin Desmet (SX) has become not only a regular creative partner but also a co-composer and producer for Low Hill. The two have found a deep connection, both creatively and musically, resulting in a unique synergy. Their collaboration has continued to grow now that both are based in Brussels.
Currently, Laurens is fully focused on the release of the debut album Leave You / Remain, planned for April 2025. This album will be released on Clay, the independent label managed by Benjamin Desmet. Leave You / Remain promises to be an intimate and heartfelt musical experience, with a cinematic and melancholic sound that resonates deeply with listeners.
